I actually DO LOVE “Gone with the WInd.” There are some really brilliant and intense scenes that I have never seen any where else. When Melanie is dying, and her children are brought into see her, there’s this unscripted and very real pain that is felt. It isn’t a part that is milked for emotion in the same way modern movies are. Also, when Brett carries Scarlett upstairs to have his way with her, as she screams she doesn’t want him to-then the next morning we see her smiling in bed-so much is spoken in the black flashes between the scenes.
She makes a dress out of curtains and escapes the Yankees! C’mon!
